Aged for 12 month in cement and steel tanks. The color is light and reminiscent more of Pinot Noir than Pinotage. Red fruit and tobacco aromas compliment the delicate flavours and fine, elegant tannins.

The grapes come from 21 and 43 year old vineyards that are unirrigated and farmed organically. The vineyard is about 250m above sea level on a north-west facing slope. The soil is decomposed Lammershoek granite. Yield is about 4 tons/ha.

The cellar presses 20% of the production as rosé to blend back later for a lower natural pH and more acidity. 30% of the rest of the vineyard is whole-bunch fermented with the balance de-stemmed. Fermentation lasts 8 days. Following fermentation, the wine is aged in wooden foudres and concrete tanks.
